Itinerary for Greece & Santorini

Day 1- Arrival:

Arrived late night in Athens, capital of Greece. Most international flights arrive in Greece, from here you can find connections to islands or inland cities.

Day 2- Explore Athens:

This was low key day, we were recovering from jet-lag. Roamed around in trendy neighborhoods of Plaka which contains artsy shops and cute little cafes.

Day 3,4- Delphi and Meteora:

We boarded tour bus organized by Key Tours to explore ruins of Delphi and monasteries of Meteora. As it is more than 800km round trip journey we opted for bus tour, rather than driving ourself. This tour gives detailed overview of Delphi historical site. Night stay was organized at Meteora. Next day we visited historical monastery of Holy Trinity. Arrived back in Athens on same day late in evening.

Day 5,6- Athens and around:

We utilized day 5 and 6 to visit historical sites in Athens such as Acropolis, museum, Parthenon, temple of Olympus, Panathenaic Stadium (first Olympics was hosted here).

We also roamed around in Monastiraki neighborhood to enjoy local greek cuisines and delicacies.

That evening we boarded flight to Santorini.

Day 7,8,9- Santorini:

All postcard worthy shots of Greece are captured here at beautiful island of Santorini. We stayed in Oia which is famous for its iconic white buildings with blue domes. We spent most of the days to explore little villages of Oia, Fira and Imerovigli.

Never miss a single sunset here as it would be most beautiful sunset you would have ever seen.

On the evening of day 9 we boarded flight to get back to home.

Logistics-

Flights- We flew with Lufthansa and had stopover in Frankfurt. Also these days there are lot of low cost carrier options for Norwegian and Iceland Air.

Hotels-

Athens- We recommend to do highly rated airbnb in Athens so you can mingle with locals and get to know their culture.

Santorini- We stayed at Oia Marre Villas which is located on hills of Oia with beautiful view of Caldera on one side and Sunset on west. These villas are repurposed old caves from ancient times therefore makes for unique experience.

Visa- Schengen visa.
